Exhortation to a king,
31 words of King Lemuel; the prophecy that his mother taught him.
2 What, my son? And what, son of my womb?
And what, son of my vows?
3 Give not thy strength to women,
Nor thy ways to that which destroys kings.
4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine;
Nor for princes strong drink:
5 Lest they drink and forget the law,
And pervert the justice of all the afflicted.
6 Give strong drink to perish,
And wine to those in bitter mood.
7 Let him drink, and forget his need,
And remember his misery no more agreed.
8 Open thy mouth for the dumb
In the judgment of all who are destitute.
9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously,
Defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Praise of the virtuous woman
10 virtuous woman who can find?
For her worth is far exceeds the gemstones.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her,
And no lack of gain.
12 She does him good and not evil
Every day of his life.
13 She seeks wool and flax,
And worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships;
She brings her food from afar.
15 closed even at night
And provides food for her family
And a portion to her maidens.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
And plants a vineyard of his hands.
17 Gird her loins with strength,
And makes her arms.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is good
Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 layeth her hands to the spindle,
And her hands hold the distaff.
20 She extends her hand to the poor,
And extends her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household:
For all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She makes tapestry;
Fine linen and purple is their clothing.
23 Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
And delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honor are her clothing;
And she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom;
And the law of kindness is on her tongue.
27 Consider the ways of her household,
And eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also praises her:
29 Many daughters have done virtuously,
But you surpass them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain;
The woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
And let her works praise her in the gates facts.
YOU will be magnified,
HIGHLY
do it, and GOD WILL STOP FOR PEOPLE.

11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled; and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. 12 And he said also to him that bade him: When you give a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbors, lest they in turn also invite you you and you be repaid. ...
